IBPS clerk exam is conducted by IBPS (Institute of banking personnel selection) every year to select candidates for various nationalized banks for the position of clerk.
Many aspirants are thinking to make their career in banking domain. And the decision is very right because of the bright future they have. But passing the exam is not an easy task. Students should work hard to get qualifying marks.
Before appearing for the final exam, students should know the exact syllabus for the exam. The exam questions are of objective types with the duration of 2 hours. Number of questions to be solved in these 2 hours are 200. Maximum marks are 200. There are total 5 section (Computer knowledge, Reasoning, English, numerical ability and general awareness) with each section will have 40 marks. Please note there will be negative marking as well. 0.25 marks will get deducted for every wrong answer.

IBPS clerk exam syllabus in detail
Computer knowledge: This section consist two subsections. 1. Software 2. Hardware. Participants must have basic computer knowledge as well as knowledge of MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Internet, networking, database management system, abbreviations and more.
Reasoning: This section includes logical questions based on judgments, conclusions from premises or facts. Examples are age calculation, blood relations, decision making, mirror images, ranking test, coding decoding, Analogy, Alphabet test, Sitting arrangement, statements and arguments etc.
English: English is an international common language. Students must know Basic English language. This section includes grammar and usage. Vocabulary, synonyms, passage completion task etc.
Numerical ability: This section includes pie outlines, line charts, roots, average, ration, benefits & loss, stocks & share, clocks & calendar, time & work, time & distance etc.
General awareness: This section includes questions about current affairs specially related to baking industry. Questions based on books & authors, banking rules & procedures, economics, financial market, history of banking, currencies, banking terms etc.
So students wake up and start preparing to score high.
